{O/C} The Ulvade school district's police chief has stepped down.

This, after allegations he could have forestalled the Texas Robb Elementary School massacre.

Pete Arredondo wrote in a letter on Friday that his resignation will be beneficial to the city, in addition to minimising further vexation.

His resignation came just weeks after his swearing-in on May 31st, a week subsequent to the deadly shooting.

Arredondo added the community must unite once again.

Arredondo had been on an administrative leave of absence after reports surfaced of his cock-up that culminated with the killing of the 19 innocent students and two teachers.

Relatives of the victims had repeatedly demanded he be shown the door.
