{O/C} {In our last story tonight} A survivor of a brutal attack on a mosque in New Zealand three years ago is demonstrating to us that courage, unity and perseverance know no bounds.

This is 47-year-old Temel Atacocugu.
The lingering injuries didn't deter him from completing his two-week walk and bike ride for peace on the route along which the gunman drove from the southern city of Dunedin to the two Christchurch mosques where he carried out the attack.
During the attack, Atacocugu was shot in the mouth, his left arm and both legs, the injuries of which still give him pain from time to time.
Australia white supremacist Brenton Tarrant pleaded guilty to 51 counts of murder in 2020 for carrying out the terrorist and wanton attack. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Atacocugu is planning to donate a munificent 64,000 New Zealand dollars, or around 337,455 HKD, raised on an online donations page to three charities benefiting children.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern hailed the Muslim community as being courageous and determined to stamp out terrorism.
