How does walking 4,000 steps a day sound?
Is it a cinch or a challenge?
Well, looks like 4,000 steps a day can keep death away.
That from a new study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
The report says your risk of death from any cause declines just by walking 4,000 steps.
And just under 2,250 steps a day reduces the risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases.
It also finds that such benefits apply to both men and women, regardless of age and climate.
But having examined those who took as many as 20,000 steps per day, scientists found no upper limit on the health benefits of walking.
The research is part of an analysis of over 226,000 cases from 17 different previous studies that tracked participants for around seven years on average.
