Spate of gun violence across the United States

{O/C} A supposedly enjoyable weekend in the United States was repeatedly sullied by gun violence.

{RVO}

A shooting erupted at a central Oregon Safeway supermarket on Sunday night. Three people, including 20-year-old Ethan Blair Miller, the suspected perpetrator, were killed.

An AR-15-style rifle was used to gun down people from the parking lot to inside the supermarket.

Officers later discovered additional ammunition, including a sawed-off shotgun and three Molotov cocktails, in the suspect's vehicle.

Then it was off to Phoenix, Houston, Detroit, New York and Washington D.C., leaving dozens dead or injured in all.

All these make for one just cause for President Biden to single out Republicans opposed to his proposed prohibition of assault-style weapons during his Tuesday visit to Pennsylvania.

Democrats are also striving to stymie Republican efforts to derail them in the November mid-term elections.
