We take you to Japan, where a convenience store has adopted robotic help with restocking drinks.

{RVO}

This robot called TX SCARA is a new employee who recently started volunteering at this FamilyMart store.

It's tasked with restocking drinks for customers amid a chronic labour shortage.

The staff's working schedules have become quite versatile as the robot's presence obviates the need for this monotonous task to be done by humans.

Japan is currently nudging closer to a labour shortage crisis, expected to breach the 5-million mark by 2025, and 6-million mark by 2030.

TX SCARA is already in place in 300 stores and could be expanded to all the 16,000 FamilyMart stores across Japan.
