Good evening.
Liz Truss Resigns
British Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned, thrusting the United Kingdom into political uncertainty after 44 days on the job.
Bowing to demands by her fellow Conservatives, she made a hasty statement outside her office saying she couldn't deliver the mandate on which she was elected by her party.
She's the shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history.
This, after fiery opposition and rebellion from her own Conservative lawmakers in Parliament today that threatened to wreck her leadership.
Policy Address Follow-up
Chief Executive John Lee today faced a barrage of inquiries from lawmakers today about his maiden policy address.
He forcefully denied allegations he glossed over Article 23 legislation, and clarified Hong Kong still does remain competitive despite the mass exodus over the past few months.
COVID
5,098 COVID cases were reported in Hong Kong today, with 335 imported cases.
