Only a month after breaking ground, and the developer, Swire Properties, says about 87 percent of the condo residences have been sold.
Poised to be South Florida's tallest skyscraper, it's where architects are trying out new techniques that would allow the skyscraper to withstand hurricane-force winds at a height of over 1,000 feet.
The structure will require Miami's first tuned mass damper, like a pendulum, on top of the building to prevent over-swaying.
The tower, which resembles a battery of glass cubes stacked atop each other, is expected to feature 205 hotel guest rooms and 360 luxury condo rooms.
