Half Moon Bay farm gunman faces 7 murder charges

The man accused of shooting-to-death 7 people in back-to-back shootings at two mushroom farms in California's Half Moon Bay has been slapped with 7 counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

66-year-old Chunli Zhao was set to make his first court appearance on Wednesday but it has been postponed until February 16th.

Zhao fatally gunned down four people and wounded another inside a Half Moon Bay mushroom farm on Monday.

He then drove to a nearby farm where he worked previously and killed three more.

Authorities say some of those killed were migrant workers, and some were shot in trailers on the property.

It was California's third mass shooting in eight days.

But it wasn't the suspect's first fit of workplace rage.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported back in 2013, the suspect was accused of threatening to split a co-worker's head open with a knife, and suffocate the man with a pillow.
