Black holes are intriguing because of always gobbling up nearby matters.
This one resembles a bright fuzzy orange doughnut.
The colorised image is from an international consortium behind the Event Horizon Telescope, a collection of eight synchronised radio telescopes around the world.
Capturing this precious image was a well-nigh insurmountable challenge.
This black hole was "fasting", which allowed astronomers to gaze deeper.
Scientists had expected the Milky Way's black hole to be way more violent.
The first image was unveiled back in 2019.
The project cost nearly 60 million U.S. dollars.
