To a buzz bumblebees are creating among biologists.
That's because scientists have discovered that not only can bumblebees solve puzzles, but pass on their knowledge to peers as well.
Alice Bridges, Author of Recent Plos Biology Report on Bumblebees, says, "What this created was like a trend, a fashion trend or in animal behaviour terms, a tradition. Actually, what our bees are doing is maybe even more impressive."
"They have brains the size of a pinhead, yet they are still able to produce this behaviour," she added.
Lars Chittka, Professor at Queen Mary University of London, says he thinks it shows that we're not alone on the planet that they are kinds of alien civilisations right around us.
Experts from Queen Mary University of London trained a set of bumblebees to push a red tap to open a puzzle box containing a sugar reward.
Other bees then watched, and for 98 percent of the time they choose the same method.
Researchers have published their findings in the Plos Biology journal.
They say strong evidence proves that learning by observation among peers can drive behaviour in bumblebees.
