{O/C} A massive manhunt to find a serial bomber in Texas came to an explosive end yesterday when the bomber blew himself up.
He left behind a video detailing the differences among the weapons he built.
But his motive remains a mystery.

Twenty-three-year-old Mark Conditt made a 25-minute video confessing to carrying out a three week deadly bombing spree that left the community of Austin, Texas terror-struck.
That revelation came after Conditt blew himself up right as authorities were closing in on him.

BRIAN MANLEY, Austin Police Department Interim Chief:
As members of the Austin Police Department SWAT team approached the vehicle, the suspect detonated a bomb inside the vehicle, knocking one of our SWAT officers back and one of our SWAT officers fired at the suspect, as well.

While the admitted serial bomber is dead authorities warned his pre-set bombs may still exist.

FRED MILANOWSKI, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacoo and Firearms:
We want to make sure that if people see suspicious packages or bags that contained... to call 911 and report that to the police so we can respond.

Upon searching the suspect's home in Pflugerville, FBI and ATF agents found a treasure trove of bomb making materials.
They're on the hunt for accomplices and are questioning his roommates.
What they do know is that Conditt was the eldest son of four kids who were home-schooled.
He took college courses, but never graduated.
On a blog post, he admitted he was not politically inclined.
He said he was against gay marriage but argued in favour of the death penalty and eliminating sex offender registries.
He was unemployed and had no criminal record.
Investigators tracked him down by one of his buying signatures. He purchased foreign exotic batteries online from Asia.
But their biggest break came from one of his package bombs that failed to blow up.
They traced it where he shipped it using the ominous alias "Kelly Killmore".
Security camera footage captured Conditt in a FedEx store wearing a blonde wig mailing two bombs.

GREG ABBOTT, Governor of Texas:
It kind of alerted some witnesses that this seemed like it wasn't right and some witnesses were able to identify the vehicle that he was in.

Authorities now know most materials for his six bombs, that left two people dead and six others seriously injured, were purchased at a Home Depot store.
Conditt's parents are shocked and devastated. In a statement they admitted we had "no idea of the darkness Mark must have been in."
