{O/C} 266,853 COVID infections were reported in South Korea today. This, as South Korean officials eased social distancing rules, somehow reflecting officials' impotence to curb a mounting toll on both the country's economy and Koreans.
Meantime, a gargantuan effort is now underway in South Korea to douse one of the country's most devastating conflagrations.

More than 2,000 firefighters and troops were deployed on short notice to battle a large wildfire that rampaged through an eastern coastal area and temporarily threatened a nuclear power station as well as a liquefied natural gas plant.
President Moon Jae-in issued an alarm on Friday afternoon, warning the perimeter of a seaside nuclear plant in the seaside town of Uljin was being singed.
The blaze started on a mountain in Uljin and spread across more than 3,000 hectares.
So far, 90 homes and other buildings have been destroyed, with nearly 6,000 people evacuated.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
South Korean officials attributed the rapid spread of the fire to strong winds and dry conditions.
Firefighters are reportedly making headway, although officials didn't immediately say when the fire is expected to come under control.
