A bit of snow greeted Sunak, who later shook hands with Ukrainian military personnel and held a meeting with President Zelensky.
Then, he paid tribute to the soldiers who died fighting for Ukrainian sovereignty, and toured a massive display of destroyed Russian tanks.
At a joint press conference with Zelensky, Sunak announced a 50-million-pound package of defence aid, including 125 anti-aircraft guns and other weapons to bolster Ukrainian air defence.
Meanwhile, at a security forum in Canada, U.S. Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin called the war just the prelude to "tyranny and turmoil", warning of possible nuclear threats.
He went on to condemn Russia for wrecking civilian and energy infrastructure.
