Redacted copy of Mar-a-Lago search affidavit to be publicised

{O/C} A federal judge in Florida has requested the Justice Department to release a largely censored affidavit justifying the raid on former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.

The blacked-out sections reportedly include information about the witnesses, law enforcement and the means used in the probe.

"Granted in part."

That's how federal judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the document be disclosed for the sake of public interest.

Still, information the open sections will offer remains enshrouded.

Documents already divulged attest to the 11 sets of classified records found at Mar-a-Lago, in addition to the investigation into alleged violations of three different federal laws, including the mutilation or removal of highly secret documents.

While there are compelling reasons why the search warrant should remain largely under wraps, a former senior adviser of the Trump cabinet suggested otherwise.

JARED KUSHNER, Former Senior White House Advisor to President Trump:

I think what the judge should do is release all the information so people can know whether there is a serious allegation or this is more manufactured.
