{O/C} In the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID-19.
Fortunately, neither the President nor the first lady was considered a "close contact" as it had been a week or so since they last met each other.

Harris tweeted that she was not experiencing any symptoms, and would continue to isolate, work from home and adhere to CDC guidelines. She added she was grateful to have gotten incoulated and boosted.
Harris is heeding her physicians' advice to take Paxlovid, Pfizer's anti-viral pill, which has been proven to bring about a 90 percent reduction in hospitalisations and deaths among patients bound to fall victim to severe diseases.
U.S. President Joe Biden has phoned Harris to ensure she has everything she needs while working from home.
This, just a month following her husband, Doug Emhoff's diagnosis and recovery from the virus.
A spate of cases appears to have engulfed Washington's political class.
