Just today, it removed its final travel restrictions for fully vaccinated passengers.
Travellers were greeted by jubilant well-wishers waving toy koalas and foods emblematic of the country.
Today, it reported 17,736 COVID infections along with 34 deaths. The country's death toll since the inception of the pandemic is now at 4,929.
