{O/C} Pitched battle between the Department of Justice and Trump as they're now on collision course over a special master.
{RVO}
The DOJ and former President Trump's legal team selected different independent arbiters to pore over the secret documents.
The former submitted the names of two retired judges -- Barbara Jones of Manhattan and Thomas Griffith of the District of Columbia.
The latter, meanwhile, proposed one retired judge -- Raymond Dearie of New York and prominent Florida lawyer Paul Huck Jr.
They also clashed on the purview of the special master.
Trump's attorneys contended the special master should sift through all the documents nabbed, including those marked classified, and sort out any privileged information.
On the other hand, the DOJ expected to deny the arbiter access to the classified records or potential claims of executive privilege.
