{O/C} After just 44 days on the job, British Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned.
This, after fiery rebellion from lawmakers wrecked her leadership.
{RVO}
Earlier in the day, Truss blared, "I'm a fighter and not a quitter."
She had also refused to budge even as another Cabinet minister resigned in a move sure to compound the uproar.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman made her resignation in a tweet.
In her letter to the Prime Minister, she confessed to sending an official document from her personal email account.
She went to accuse Truss of papering over mistakes, instead of owning up to them.
Braverman, a popular figure on the Conservative Party's right wing, has championed more stringent immigration policies.
An embattled Truss has installed former Cabinet minister Grant Shapps as the new Home Secretary.
With opinion polls indicating a growing lead for the Labour Party, Conservatives are scrambling to oust Truss, but divisions remain over her successor.
Fighting a painstaking battle to retain the country's top job, Truss remained defiant in the face of rancorous opposition in Parliament.
