Wildfires that literally rampaged through several western U.S. states on Tuesday have left those states parched. The National Weather Service said the heat wave appeared to have been the culprit of the wildfires that are now threatening homes and lands across 10 western U.S. states.

Nearly 60 wildfires rampaged through 10 western U.S. states, from Alaska to Wyoming.
Arizona, Idaho and Montana accounted for more than half of the large active fires.
The wildfires have rendered those states parched.
The NWS said the heat wave appeared to have become more devastating, as excessive heat
warnings were expected to continue into Wednesday.
In Northern California, a combined pair of lightning-ignited blazes are now threatening homes and lands in California. Winds, hot weather and low humidity is expected to further fuel the blazes.
Evacuation orders were in place in many of those states.
