The head of the World Health Organisation told sport officials today that eliminating COVID risk at the Olympic games is impossible.

WHO's director general said during an International Olympic Committee meeting that what officials should be doing is to ensure that any cases are identified, isolated, traced as soon as possible. They should also make sure the patients are tended to properly.
The number of games-linked COVID infections in Japan is 79 as of now.
Health experts in Japan had warned of the Olympic games becoming a "super-spreader" event before officials decided not to change their plan.
