Gunshots rang out in Cap-Haitien as supporters of slain President Jovenel Moise blocked roads and demanded justice while threatening to disrupt his upcoming funeral.
Early on Thursday, a priest told mourners at a memorial service that violence might erupt ahead of Moise's funeral.
Meantime, the U.S. State Department has appointed Daniel Foote as the U.S.' special envoy for Haiti.
A private funeral for Moise is slated for Friday as authorities continue their probe into the July 7 attack at the President's private residence in the Haitian Capital of Port-au-Prince.
