This surveillance video shows Kenosha police officer Shawn Guetschow, who was a security guard in the school at that time, intervening in the scuffle prior to falling to the ground.
He then pushed the girl's head onto the ground with his knee on her neck for around half a minute.
The 12-year-old student was then handcuffed by the officer and led out of the cafeteria.
The incident occured on March 4.
The student's father has called for criminal charges against the officer for restraining his daughter inappropriately. He added his daughter was in therapy and seeing a neurologist who's now tending to her injuries.
The school district intially placed the officer on paid leave. But owing to what he called unbearable burden on his family, he resigned from his post last Tuesday.
