{O/C} Parts of southern parts of South Korea was today struck by whipping winds and incessant rains as typhoon Hinnamnor, weakening to a tropical storm, trampled through the country.

The most powerful storm this year wrecked the resort island of Jeju before roaming waters between the Korean Peninsula and Japan.
The deadly storm killed two people and trapped some in a swamped underground parking lot.
Despite having weakened to 115 kilometres per hour, Hinnamnor's winds still wreaked utter devastation in the southern city of Pohang, where one person was killed and at least nine others remain unaccounted for.
Landslides were unleashed, power lines toppled over, windows were shattered and vehicles were flattened as massive waves engulfed seaside areas.
The storm has dumped over 105 centimeters of rain on Jeju island since Sunday.
The storm is now losing strength at sea as tens of thousands are expected to remain in the dark tonight.
