Trump loyalists win key primaries in Arizona

{O/C} As for the governor contest in Arizona, Trump-endorsed candidates appear to be tough as nails.

This, yet again, spotlights Trump's enduring influence despite being lashed by the ongoing January 6 hearing.

Lawyer Karrin Taylor Robson is slightly trailing in the polls, nipping at the heels of Trump-backed former TV news anchor Kari Lake.

The winner of the Arizona Republican primary will advance to the general election in November to go toe-to-toe with Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who emerged with a commanding victory in Tuesday's primary.

Meantime, in the Senate race, Trump-supported 35-year-old Blake Masters had his hands full campaigning. The first-time contestant has devoted most of his career to working for billionaire Peter Thiel, who's bankrolling his campaign.

Masters will take on Democratic Senator Mark Kelly in the mid-term elections.
