In the United States, the federal trial for three former Minneapolis police officers charged with violating George Floyd's civil rights is slated to begin later today.

In the main, J. Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao are all charged with depriving Floyd of his civil rights while acting under government authority, as well as failing to provide Floyd with medical care.
In addition, Thao and Kueng are facing another count for failing to stop Chauvin murdering Floyd.
Prosecutors will have to provide evidence that bears witness to the fact that the three cops wilfully violated Floyd's constitutional rights, while defence attorneys are apt to blame Chauvin for Floyd's murder, which was videotaped and brought the entire world to a flashpoint.
Back on last Thursday, 18 people were chosen to form the jury.
A U.S. District Judge told jurors earlier that the trial could last four weeks.
For now, it remains to be seen whether any of the three officers will give their own testimonies, as well as whether Chauvin, who's in jail right now, will take the witness stand.
