We begin tonight in Washington, where a man from North Carolina surrendered to law enforcement officers after claiming to have a bomb in a pickup truck near the U.S. capitol.
This, after an hourslong standoff that prompted a massive police response and the evacuations of government buildings in that area.

Thursday's incident began at around 9:15 in the morning there when a truck drove up the sidewalk outside the library.
The truck that the man drove had no licence plates whatsoever.
The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Floyd Ray Roseberry, reportedly professed a litany of anti-government grievances as part of a bizarre episode that he live-streamed on Facebook.
Roseberry told a responding officer that he had a bomb in his car, and he was holding what the officer believed to be a detonator.
The standoff and negotiations lasted for five hours, and eventually culminated in Roseberry's surrender. He crawled out of his truck and was immediately taken into police custody.
Authorities did collect suspected bomb-making materials, but they didn't find a bomb at the scene. They are also investigating the motive behind this incident.
But investigators did learn that the suspect's mother had recently passed away.
Today's incident suggests Washington still remains on edge eight months after the stunning insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
