Thanksgiving is back in America despite COVID

{O/C} And we are saving the best for last.

If you have been keeping your finger on the pulse, you probably know that the Macy's Thanksgiving parade is back with Americans this year as America is poised to flourish again, with retailers waiting in the wings to usher in this year's Black Friday shopping season early.

However, some parts of the country continue to experience the trials and tribulations of the pandemic as a new variant of the virus was just discovered in South Africa today.

Are you among those celebrating Thanksgiving amid the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple? Or are you one of those watching the 95th Macy's Thanksgiving parade on the tube?

Either way, America is bouncing back, as thousands of marchers, hundreds of clowns, dozens of balloons and floats made for one festive extravaganza.

The return of this fabulous parade featured snoopy, and this lovely turkey.

It symbolises normalcy's return to America, which is already picking up steam.

The show also boasted Santa Claus, marking the latest U.S. holiday event since the onset of the dreadful pandemic.

To President Joe Biden, the parade's full-fledged return was indicative of renewal. NBC News' Al Roker even received a surprise call from the President.

Biden: My message is, after two years, we are back. America is back. There is nothing we are unable to overcome, Al.

In a video address, the Bidens commiserated with those who lost their loved ones to the virus.

Biden: We are also keeping our hearts with those feeling lost, and those who've lost so much. And those who have an empty seat in their kitchen table or dining table this year.

While many families availed themselves of the time they have with their loved ones by enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner together, retailers are already waiting in the wings to usher in the unofficial beginning of the holiday shopping season this Black Friday.

Although Americans managed to make the most of their Thanksgiving holiday in the teeth of this aggravating crisis, America is by no means out of the woods just yet. In parts of the country, such as Michigan, COVID cases are soaring, constituting a cause for alarm.

Doctors and the CDC are calling on the public to err on the side of caution, since a COVID vaccine remains the fulcrum of people's lives.
