In the United States, although tornadoes that struck the southern part of the United States have disappeared, residents there are not out of the woods yet. Forecasters say much of the South is again at risk of severe weather.
Large parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, as well as parts of Arkansas and Georgia are at enhanced risk for the worst weather, according to the national Storm Prediction Centre. That zone is home to more than 11 million people, and includes the cities of Nashville, Tennessee, Birmingham, Alabama, and many other cities close by.
They could include wind gusts of up to 70 miles of per hour and hail to the size of golf balls. Residents there are advised to stay away from trees and the national Storm Prediction Centre will issue evacuation orders if necessary.
