Portuguese police are renewing the search for a British girl who vanished while vacationing in southern Portugal in 2007.
3-year old Madeleine McCann went missing in the resort of Praia da Luz in the Algarve region.

On Tuesday, a couple of firefighters could be seen in a dinghy on the Arade Dam reservoir, about 50 kilometres from that resort.
That's where police set up tents along with rakes and other tools as they combed the vicinity of the reservoir shortly before 8 in the morning.

The new operation, first in the reservoir, is being led by Portuguese police with the help of German and British officers.
This after three previous searches for the girl -- the first in 2007, another in 2013 and 2014 and a third in 2020.
In mid-2020, German officials said a 45-year-old German, identified as Christian Brueckner, who was in the Algarve region in 2007, was a suspect in the case.
He's under investigation on suspicion of murder in the case but has yet to be charged, and has denied involvement.
He's currently serving a seven year sentence in Germany for a rape in Portugal in 2005.
