{O/C} In Pakistan, at least 18 flood survivors were killed when their ill-fated bus went up in flames.
{RVO}
The bus was making its way to the flood-struck area of Khairpur Nathan Shah in Sindh province, where flood waters finally tapered off.
Rescuers frantically evacuated passengers, mostly children.
Some were trapped inside the blaze-blanketed bus and couldn't flee.
Authorities said the air conditioning unit of the bus short-circuited.
Fatal bus blazes are predominant in Pakistan due to crumbling road infrastructure, disregard for traffic laws and poorly-maintained vehicles.
