{O/C} North Korea today told the world that one intermediate-range ballistic missile of its is capable of reaching the American island of Guam.

Sunday's launch of the aforementioned missile is considered a prelude to more provocative actions by North Korea -- conducting nuclear and long-range missile tests to name a few -- that pose a grave threat to the safety of Americans on the U.S. mainland.
Pyongyang has been wresting concessions from U.S. President Joe Biden's administration while denuclearisation talks are meandering.
Experts say the North's recent testing spree either aims at pressuring the U.S. to relieve the already embattled North of debilitating sanctions or seeking international recognition as a legitimate nuclear state in the teeth of pandemic-related problems and aggravating U.S.-North Korea relations.
The official Korean Central News Agency portrayed that test as a testimony to the overall accuracy of the Hwasong-12 missile that's being deployed in its military.
