The assassination of Shinzo Abe & the trials and tribulations of his legacy
Japan is reeling from a rare terror attack that saw Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe slain during a campaign speech in Nara city.
Abe was addressing a crowd of supporters when the 41-year-old assailant, clad in a grey shirt, fired two shots that nearly killed the former leader, who was then airlifted to a nearby hospital.
But at around 5 this afternoon, he passed away.
Tributes are pouring in from world leaders.
Abe was 67.
