Good evening, and headline news tonight:


The assassination of Shinzo Abe & the trials and tribulations of his legacy


Japan is reeling from a rare terror attack that saw Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe slain during a campaign speech in Nara city.


Abe was addressing a crowd of supporters when the 41-year-old assailant, clad in a grey shirt, fired two shots that nearly killed the former leader, who was then airlifted to a nearby hospital.


But at around 5 this afternoon, he passed away.


Tributes are pouring in from world leaders.


Abe was 67.



Britain's future in limbo


British Prime Minister hopefuls are jousting for the beleaguered country's control.


This, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson officially announced his resignation, but insisted on remaining in his present position until a successor is elected.

And the third runway finally commenced operation today, with a bulbous Cathay Pacific 747 cargo making the first commercial landing.


Terminal 2 is still undergoing refurbishment for the sake of full-fledged passenger services.
