N Korea fires purported ballistic missile

{O/C} North Korea fired yet another suspected ballistic missile towards the sea today.

Its neighbours are on high alert following the launch.

The North appears to be extending its barrage of weapons test via launching one of its biggest intercontinental ballistic missiles yet.

It was North Korea's 12th round of weapons launches this year.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff didn't immediately respond to details about the launch.

But Japan believes a ballistic missile may have been innvolved and warned nearby vessels to watch out for falling projectiles.

This comes in the run-up to the birthday of North Korea's founder in April.

The North has been testing a multitude of new missiles, including a purported hypersonic weapon.
