Our final story tonight comes from the U.S. state of Florida. Many cat owners have to prepare themselves for a mourning period when their cats are about to depart this life because of health problems or other problems. This feline miraculously survived a traffic accident in 2015, and is now acclimating to a new home with his owner, Valerie.
Bart was propelled to international fame after he miraculously survived a traffic accident in which he was hit by a car in 2015. He was initially presumed dead, and was buried by his former owner.
Then, five days after the crash, a miracle happened: The feline clawed out of a roadside grave after being buried alive.
Bart – dubbed the “Zombie Cat” by the media, is now re-dubbed “The Miracle Cat” by the Human Society of Tampa Bay, where he ended up receiving veterinary care for months. His lower jaw were broken, his palate was split from front to back, and he needed dental work. Maggots were removed from his left eye after three hours of surgery.
The feline is hell-bent on surviving.
And later, one altruistic woman adopted him. She is Valerie, who said Bart is considered a sweetheart. She said, “Even in the worst of times when he had just arrived, he would head-butt people just to try and get some pets. He’s always been a big, old love. He wants to be around people and to play and be loved, and that’s it.”
She admitted she earlier struggled, as she worried about whether her three other rescue cats would accept him. But when the “miracle cat” was still acclimating to a new home, Max, one of Valerie’s cats, quickly became friends with Bart.
Valerie lauded national organizations which help animals go through difficult periods. She hopes Bart’s story will inspire people to support their local shelter and the pets they save.
