Turning to New York, whose Attorney General, Letitia James, threw her hat into the gubernatorial ring on Friday.

The 62-year-old formally announcing that she is running for governor came as no surprise as it had been a widely anticipated move.
Having overseen an inquiry and investigation into allegations that former New York governor Andrew Cuomo sexually groped several women, James said she has the experience, vision and courage to take on the powerful on all New Yorkers' behalf.
James is currently New York's Attorney General, also the first Black person to serve in the role.
Prior to her bombshell report of Cuomo's sexual allegations, James had been known nationally for her frequent legal tussles with former President Donald Trump. Since taking office back in 2019, James has investigated Trump's business affairs and filed dozens of lawsuits against the Republican's administration over federal policies on immigration, the environment and a slew of other matters.
Her campaign video featured the multiple lawsuits she filed against former President Donald Trump's administration and an investigation into deaths in New York's nursing homes amid the pandemic.
This pits the aspiring New York governor against governor Kathy Hochul, who had been Cuomo's lieutenant governor, for the Democratic nomination.
