Arkansas residents are on baited breath over the nation's first, unprecedented trial involving the state's prohibition on gender-confirming care for youngsters.
This, after Republicans championed the restrictions on transgender youths in a move forcefully denounced by medical experts.

U.S. District Court judge Jay Moody will begin hearing testimony and evidence starting Monday.
That, over the law he temporarily suspended barring doctors from providing gender-confirming hormone treatment, puberty blockers and surgery to anyone under eighteen.
It also outlaws referring patients elsewhere for such services.
The families of four transgender youths and two doctors who provide those services called for Moody to annul the law, calling it unconstitutional and discriminatory.
