The blaze was reported at about 4 p.m. on Thursday in a quiet neighbourhood of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Six of the dead were children ranging from 1 to 13.

Both adults living in the place were considered the "primary suspects" given they were found dead in the front part of the home while the kids were all found in a bedroom, where a fire was doused.

Broken Arrow Fire Department Chief Jeremy Moore said it didn't appear anyone died because of the fire.
