In Phoenix in Arizona, the temperature has been above 115 degrees since Sunday. Yesterday, a record high of 117 degrees was recorded. This, as daily records were also set this week in places across the U.S. West, namely Nevada and California, with some places recording a record high of 128 degrees on Thursday.

The records have electric companies warning of possible power outages, as many air conditioners have been turned on due to the blistering heat.

Meanwhile, heat waves there have many Americans calling for help, as some said the heat waves have exacerbated some serious medical conditions.
