{O/C} {In other news} Tuesday's Brooklyn subway attack suspect, 62-year-old Frank James, has now been jailed without bail as prosecutors attested to the fact every New Yorker was horrified by the ghastly incident.

The subdued perpetrators, led into a Brooklyn federal courtroom without handcuffs, answered simple questions as his lawyer pleaded with the public not to prejudge him, calling for a fair trial.

Having fled the scene after detonating smoke grenades and fired dozens of bullets in apacked subway train on Tuesday morning, James himself called a police tip line yesterday to provide the police with his location. Afterwards, he was nabbed without incident.

The authorities are still trying to figure out if there were any ulterior motives involved.

Tuesday's attack wreaked havoc on America's busiest subway system at the most hectic time of the day.
