Fiery 50-car train derailment in Ohio

A mass evacuation order was underway for residents in parts of Ohio after a fiery freight train derailed in Ohio.

Smoke could be seen billowing high into the air, with flames raging and train cars mangled and charred.

This, after a 50-car train derailed in East Palestine at around 9 p.m. local time on Friday.

20 of the more than 100 train cars were carrying hazardous materials, including potentially cancer-causing vinyl chloride.

The National Transportation Safety Board says one train car is releasing the chemical into the air.

Some 2,000 residents in the area have been evacuated.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

Authorities say drinking water is safe and the air quality is being monitored.

The cause of the derailment is now under investigation.
