FBI highlights broad threat to New Jersey synagogues

{O/C} New Jersey police are on high alert after the FBI warned of a "broad" threat to synagogues there, citing credible information.

While the nature of the threat remains sketchy at best, the FBI's Newark office released in a statement calling on synagogues to "take all security precautions".

The alert was issued following the discovery of an online threat directed broadly at New Jersey synagogues.

As a result, police officers armed with rifles are now guarding synagoguges and places of worship, with increased patrols in Jewish-predominant communities.
