It was a terrifying moment for passengers on board a flight to South Korea on Friday as an emergency exit door was opened during the flight.
The plane later landed without incident.
Amateur video shows gusts whipping passengers near the exit.
The Asiana Airlines A321 aircraft with 194 passengers on board was heading to the southeastern city of Daegu from the southern island of Jeju.
The passengers included teenage athletes on their way to a sports competition.
The incident occurred when the flight was about 213 metres from the ground.
The Transport Ministry says some passengers had tried to stop the person who was able to open the door partially, but to no avail.
12 people were slightly injured.
The person was detained by airport police on suspicion of violating aviation security laws.
The passenger's identity was not immediately known.
An investigation into the motive is under way.
