Earth forecast to be hotter than Paris goal in the coming five years

The World Meteorological Organisation forecast there’s a 40 percent chance that the world will get so hot in the coming five years the temperature will exceed the temperature limit set by the Paris Climate agreement.

The Organization also forecast, for the next several years, there’s a 90 percent chance that the world will set yet another record for the hottest year by the end of 2025, and more potentially dangerous hurricanes will hit cities located on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

As for this year, meteorologists say large parts of land in the Northern Hemisphere will be 1.4 degrees (Fahrenheit) warmer than recent decades, and that the U.S. Southwest’s drought will likely continue, despite the U.S.’ and some other countries’ efforts to curb global warming in one way or another.

The 2015 Paris Climate accord set a goal of keeping warming to a few tenths of a degree warmer from now.
