Demonstrations grew violent in Haiti today ahead of slain President Moise's funeral.

These were the first violent demonstrations after Moise's assassination on July 7. The violence came on the heels of Ariel Henry's swearing-in ceremony.
Protesters were seen burning tyres and demanding justice in several communities across the country.
In Haiti's Capital, Port-au-Prince, Martine Moise, the President's widow, made her first public appearance since the assassination. She had been recuperating at a hospital in Miami after she was wounded in the July 7 attack at the couple's private residence. She was seen wearing a black dress and black face mask as she met with officials near the National Pantheon Museum, where ceremonies were held to mourn the death of the President.
Unlike other communities where protesters staged demonstrations, the Capital of Port-au-Prince remained peaceful, generally.
So far, at least 26 suspects have been detained as they are suspected to have been involved in the President's assassination.
