In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now faced with the threat of being toppled as the country is slated to held this year's parliamentary election.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described the election, which will see new members of Canada's Parliament elected, as "the most consequential moment" for Canada since 1945.
Trudeau today discovered that the Conservative party is nipping at his heels. However, the Liberal party will win the most seats in Parliament. Even so, Trudeau's party is expected to fail to get a majority, forcing it to rely on an opposition party to pass legislation.
The opposition has been feverishly accusing Trudeau of calling a snap election for his own personal ambition.
Trudeau didn't hedge his bets, as he believes Canadians will reward him for curbing the COVID crisis while arguing that the Conservatives' approach, which has been more sceptical about lockdowns and vaccine mandates, would be dangerous, and that Canadians needs a government that follows science.
Conservative leader Erin O'Toole didn't ask his party's candidates to be vaccinated, nor did he touch upon the number of unvaccinated candidates. O'Toole describes vaccination as a personal health decision, despite a growing number of vaccinated Canadians being increasingly upset with anti-vaxxers.
Now, a Conservative win would bespeak the Trudeau government being toppled. Knowing Trudeau would be in trouble soon, former U.S. President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both tweeted support for Trudeau.
