A bus swerved off a highway and crashed in Croatia early yesterday enroute to Kosovo. The driver apparently fell asleep before the bus starting careening off the road.

The crash happened about 6 in the morning near the town of Slavonski Brod on the highway between the Croatian capital of Zagreb and the Serbian border.
10 people were killed and at least 44 others injured.
Authorities pointed out that the driver apparently lost control after briefly falling asleep. The bus driver was detained right after that crash.
Croatian Prime Minister sent his condolences to the victims' families. The country's President also expressed condolences and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who had to cut short her stay in Tokyo at the Olympic Games, extended her sorrow and declared today a national day of mourning in Kosovo.
