Buffalo shooting gunman's prior threat scrutinised

{O/C} New revelation tonight about the Buffalo shooting perpetrator.

18-year-old Payton Gendron, accused of travelling from New York to Buffalo to perpetrate what authorities termed a racist massacre inside a Buffalo supermarket, is suspected to have made terror threats in his high school last spring.

Nevertheless, he was never prosecuted or charged with a crime after he claimed to have made that threat in jest.

He had a psychiatric evaluation in a hospital, but was released a couple of days later. Two weeks later, Gendron graduated and went off investigators' radar.

The revelation has sparked questions over whether that was yet another missed opportunity to nip a deadly mass shooting in the bud.

Following the shooting rampage, Gendron threatened to kill himself, but two officers made him drop his gun and surrender.

In addition to his dossier, authorities are also sifting through a 180-page document in which Gendron purportedly said he was targeting all non-White, non-Christian people to make them up sticks.

Meantime, grief and sorrow are consuming residents in Buffalo as they held a vigil to commemorate the 10 dead near the Tops supermarket.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has vowed to stem the spread of venomous speech that's running rampant in America.
