Body language can tell a lot about a person. This is why we turn to a body language expert to explain what’s going on in that historic handshake between Putin and Biden.
{SOT}
The highly-anticipated meeting between Putin and Biden began today with what many are describing as a handshake of the century in the Swiss Capital of Geneva.
Biden extends his hand out and continues to look at his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, while Putin immediately turned to the cameras. The two countries’ leaders did not really pose for photos and entered the lakeside mansion near Lake Geneva, where the meeting took place.
One body language expert recaps the historic handshake, saying Biden looked way more concentrated and eager.
Mark Bowden, Body Language expert:
He (Putin) turns to face the cameras in order to get that shot where he is looking at the public. Biden doesn’t do that. Biden is way more concentrated on Putin. We see him quite eager, his balance is well forward. His hand comes out first, so he is very optimistic and eager to shake the hand.

But the meeting only lasted for three hours, much shorter than the five hours expected. And Biden was candid with people all over the world today as he admitted more time is needed for both countries to build a constructive and stable relationship.
