Biden's final pitch for Democrats in mid-terms

{O/C} Turning now to the nail-biting mid-term elections in November, President Biden made his final, powerful push for Democrats.

While warning of the grievous repercussions should Republicans retake control of Congress, he's still getting an inflation earful from his fellow Americans.

While singing the praises of Oregon gubernatorial hopeful Tina Kotek and other Democrat candidates, Biden said it is the governor that seals their fate.

Portland was the final stop of the President's four-day whirlwind tour through Oregon, California and Colorado.

As a pressing inflation report and soaring gas prices choke the Biden administration, he touted Democrats' efforts to crush climate change, and said if Republicans regain control of Congress, America will be jeopardised.

Former President Obama also went on the campaign trail in Democrat-predominant states.

Meantime, the two vying for the Georgia Senate seat pelted each other with stinging jabs on various topics in the only debate last night.

{Soundbite}

HERSCHEL WALKER, Republican Nominee for the Georgia Senate Race:

I'll be a senator that protects life, and I'll say that is a lie and I'm not backing down.

{Soundbite}

RAPHAEL WARNOCK, Democratic Nominee for the Georgia Senate Race:

God gave us a choice, and I respect the right of women to make a decision.

I've never pretended to be a police officer...

{Upsound - applause}

and I've never threatened a shootout with the police.
