A teenager among the 15 people arrested after an ugly anti-migration protest outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in northwest England has been charged.
19-year-old Jarad Skeete is charged with violent disorder and assault for beating an emergency worker.
The demonstration in Knowsley had been peaceful until a group of thugs armed with fireworks and hammers arrived.
They hurled projectiles at officers and set a police van on fire.
One officer and two others were injured.
This, after a far-right organisation delivered leaflets in this area last week protesting against the migrants living there.
Britain takes in fewer asylum seekers than other European countries, but there has been a sharp increase in illegal migrations across the English Channel.
The Conservative government has promised to "stop the boats."
Last week's incident had one lawmaker representing the region insisting the violence did not reflect the community.
"There are people there who've got an argument to make which is against asylum in general, and they're using platforms to promote the idea that there's a massive problem with asylum seekers interfering with children or young girls. The police say there's no evidence that, that's happening on a scale at all," said George Howarth, Knowsley MP.
